Dennis Johnson is probably best known in JFO as a piano accompanist. At his very first camp, he experienced a demonstration of unconditional love which has kept him coming back ever since.
Since retiring as a teacher of English as a Second Language to adults in San Francisco, he and his wife Marsha have been living in the Gold Country near Placerville, CA. He stays active as a textbook writer, musician, and gardener. Dennis will share about the many ways he sees God in the experiences of his life and community.

Tanya Cothran is the Executive Director of Spirit in Action International (SIA), and this year I will celebrate my 19th year with this organization, which has JFO roots. SIA partners with community organizations in Eastern Africa to work toward a world where everyone thrives.
I am a third-generation JFOer, going to my first camps with my parents, sister, and grandparents. I continue to attend and lead at camps in California and New Hampshire. True to my non-denominational roots, I have called various churches home over the years and am currently a member of a Unitarian Universalist congregation, where I serve on the board and Spiritual Care Team.
I live in Toronto, Canada, with my fiancée, Ashley. My hobbies include reading cozy murder mysteries, watching women’s basketball, walking around the city, and weight training and boxing.
At Lassen, I’ll share my inner and inter-relational ponderings, touching on topics like understanding across differences, identifying as queer, what I’ve learned from SIA and travelling to East Africa, and my current spiritual practices.
